Arts and Healing Initiative - A 501 (c) (3) Non Profit Organization

The Arts and Healing Initiative brings arts-based tools for mind/body healing to the community as a vehicle for empowerment and transformation. The arts offer accessible, nonverbal and universal tools for facilitating emotional and physical health. The Arts and Healing Initiative develops and facilitates the use of programs that integrate art forms and mind/body therapies, such as meditation and group support, to maximize the healing process. It also serves as a clearinghouse for existing programs. Visibility is achieved through affordable experiential education and strategic outreach to health (and mental health) professionals, educators, community workers, caregivers, and artists, and the general public. Program planning involves partnerships with academia, community-based organizations, and private institutions to solve societal problems, such as the need for youth to channel physical, social, and emotional behavior in constructive ways - without the stigma of therapy.
THRIVE!
Our mission at Thrive! is to provide comprehensive support to children and young adults with acquired brain injuries. We believe that in order to address the individual needs of children, we must address the needs of their families and the larger communities that support their development. We, therefore, take a three-fold approach by offering 1) clinical care and services, including neurocognitive evaluations, educational services, psychosocial support, and advocacy, 2) consultation and education with health-care providers, educational professionals, and organizations whose mission is to support children with acquired brain injuries, and 3) research to evaluate behavioral and pharmacological interventions designed to improve the lives of this underserved population.
